The open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) "Ukrshin" was founded on September 25th, 1996 as a legal successor of the industrial-constructive assembling association "Ukrstroi" formed on January 11th, 1989.
The OJSC "Ukrshin" comprises 2 construction organizations, 2 construction districts, a specialized construction organization, a transport organization equipped with mobile cranes, platforms, trucks, concrete mixers, and other machines and mechanisms, an industrial enterprise furnished with up-to-date equipment and a licensed laboratory. The industrial enterprise invests progressive technologies and produces ferroconcrete structures, concrete, mortar and steel frameworks.
The OJSC "Ukrshin" carries out his activities mainly in the Earthquake Zone.
Since 1989 the OJSC "Ukrshin" has build apartment houses and buildings for public use.
Up till now they have put up 173 apartment houses with 177000 square meters of dwelling space, 5 kinder gardens, 6 schools, 3 polyclinics the Art Academy in Gyumry, the headquarters of the Military Unite and the Tank Battalion, the "Mountainous Armenia" resort, which have been financed by the Budget , the "World Bank", the "Pan - Armenian Hayastan Fund", the "Social Investments Fund", the "fund For Armenian", the "American Red Cross", the Ministry of Defense, the "Promethei - Chimprom" and the "Earthquake Zone PIU" SI of implementing projects.
As an index of the steady, effective and positive work of high quality the OJSC "Ukrshin" was awarded a prize of world importance - the Gold Medal of the "Association of Support to French Industry" in 2002.
All the buildings handed over for operation by the OJSC "Ukrshin" stand out for their high quality and among them the building of School # 8 in particular, which was acknowledged as the best building constructed in the region of Lori in 2002.
